Nomad’s main operations site is at Earth Camp in Gopeng, Perak, where we run most of our activities which include whitewater rafting, waterfall abseiling, ropes courses at Mountain School and others. Aside from that, we also organise school camps at various sites in Malaysia such as Ledang, Port Dickson, Pangkor etc. For school enquiries please email [email protected]

We are the only outdoor adventure-based company in Malaysia with ISO 9001:2008 certification where safety is our top priority when it comes to our adventure activities.

Yes, a non-swimmer can participate. We will provide personal floatation device to all participants for water activities and will conduct whitewater confidence swim before starting our whitewater rafting activity.

Our rafts can take a maximum of 5 participants plus one guide each, however, we normally have just 4 participants in each!

All rafting guides we use are qualified whitewater rafting guides and certified to Australian national-level safety and rescue standards

We can send you a packing list of items that you can refer to, which mainly consists of clothes you don’t mind getting wet! Strictly no crocs allowed however you can rent our “Adidas Kampung” rubber shoes @ RM5 per pair if you do not want your shoes to get wet.

Mountain School is our own unique venue to conduct various ropes related activities like abseiling, rock-climbing, zip line and many, many more. We have both low and high ropes course that are designed to exceed your expectations and give you the option of challenge by choice. You can choose 3 activities for a half-day session.

All our food is served by our certified local caterers and is Halal. You can also update us on any dietary requirements/restrictions so we can prepare the meals accordingly.

Most activities normally take half a day. Approx 2-3 hours. For high ropes at our Mountain School, we offer half-day or full-day programs. Our kayaking is a full-day course!

From KL it is approximately 2 and a half hours, from Penang it is approximately 3 hours and from Ipoh, it’s just 30-45 mins.

We readily welcome children aged 12 and above for all activities. For children below that age, we will need to assess the children’s ability to cope with our instructions and also talk further with parents/guardians about their child’s physical ability.

Activities suitable for children under 12 include trekking, flatwater rafting, caving in Gua Tempurung or some of our ropes activities at our Mountain School.

Yes, we do have accommodation for all clients who wish to stay overnight before or after activities. We have eco-friendly dormitories, tampang houses, kampung hostel and Matahari villa’s available. There are mosquitoes around the area but we do regular fogging to minimize the number of mosquitoes in the area. There are rarely any wild animals around the area, definitely nothing dangerous!

If the weather looks bad, don’t worry! With small amounts of rain, all our trips can still go ahead. If the weather really turns bad, our experienced trip leaders will be able to make the call if the trip will still run or continue. In the rare event that we need to cancel your trip, our first step is to see if we can run the trip later in the day or possibly the next day for you. If that is not possible we can issue you a credit note for you to come back and join us again when the time suits you!

For cancellations 7 days or more prior to the trip date – 50% fees payable 

Cancellations less than 7 days prior to the trip date – 100% fees payable 

Postponement 7 days or more prior to the trip date – 10% fees payable 

Postponement less than 7 days prior to the trip date – 30% fees payable

No refund on last-minute dropout OR no show on the date of the program

Refunds of various values may be granted on a case by case basis on compassionate grounds, for example, a family tragedy.

You are welcome to bring your own camera if you wish, however, we do not take any responsibility for lost or damaged items. If you do choose to bring your camera we strongly advise it to be waterproof or in a good quality waterproof case.

We require full payment prior to each trip and a minimum of 50% to secure your booking. For international clients, we have the option to pay via Paypal or once you arrive in Malaysia you can make a direct deposit into our bank account via any cash deposit machine at a local bank (this option is preferred, however, you will need to be in the country to make this payment)

Public transport does not reach our campsite, so if you do not have a car we recommend using Grab to arrive at our campsite from Gopeng, Ipoh or Kampar. There is a downloadable app and it works the same as Uber, you can book rides online through the app and make payment via a linked card or by cash to the driver. This is much cheaper than regular taxis plus its safe and reliable.

All our staff speak English and all activities are conducted in English.

We have lockers to keep your belongings safe during the activities.

The vast majority of injuries consist of minor cuts, bruises or strains.

All of these things can be handled by our experienced staff with the medical equipment we have readily available at our camp.
